BIO

Gil Liane loves science fiction and weird fiction. A writer and collage artist, she sometimes chooses to illustrate her own work.

Stories about possible futures, plots that explore unusual ideas, and adventures with unexpected heroes appear throughout her writing.

Unreliable narrators, dreams, symbols, and strange interpretations of tech are a few of her favorite things. She also adores popular culture and fairytale references.

Currently attempting to sell one of her TV scripts, she is fascinated by languages and storytelling across cultures.

Police detective Max Miller has his childhood first love Jason back, released from prison after serving time for a murder he didn't commit. The virtual world is behind them.

But their happiness is short-lived when Jason is found murdered. Max is assigned the case with Agent Silver, an AI in a woman's  body, new to exploring human emotion.

Using dream extension technology, Max must solve not just the mystery in the present, but the unsolved homicide  in the past.  Jason's family offer more questions than answers.

Why  is the Health Crimes Division so interested? When the clues keep

leading back to an underworld  healthcare nanotech ring, Max wonders what Jason was hiding.

As the dream tech takes its toll on Max's grief-ridden mind, reality, fantasy, and memory blur. Max fights to solve the case with Silver's help, determined to learn the truth.

The Conceptualist
